Typing Speed Test — WPM & Accuracy

Type the passage below as fast and accurately as you can — your WPM and accuracy show the moment you finish.

Everything runs locally — no text is sent anywhere, and no results are stored.

How it works

Typing tests are a quick way to see where you actually stand, not where you assume you stand — most people overestimate speed and underestimate typos. Try a passage a few times in a row; WPM usually climbs fast over the first five attempts as your fingers learn the specific text, then levels off, which is a better read on your real typing speed than the very first run.

FAQ

How is WPM calculated?

Words per minute uses the standard convention of 5 characters = 1 word: (characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed. Timing starts on your first keystroke, not when the page loads.

How is accuracy calculated?

Accuracy is the percentage of typed characters that match the passage at the same position, including any typos you didn't correct before finishing.

Does it save my results?
